Irish Banoffee Pie

- Graham Cracker Crust: shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs shopping list
- 1 cup butter shopping list
- 1/2 cup turbinado sugar or (brown sugar) shopping list
- 3 Tsp. ground ginger shopping list
- Filling: shopping list
- 1 (14-oz.) can sweetened condensed milk shopping list
- 2 bananas, sliced shopping list
- 2 cups whipping cream shopping list
How to make it
- For crust: Mix graham cracker crumbs, sugar, melted butter, and ginger until well blended. Press mixture into a nine-inch pie plate and cool in refrigerator.
- For filling: In a saucepan, boil an unopened can of sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated milk!) in water for three hours. Monitor closely to make sure there is always water in the pan. Remove can from heat and let cool 10 to 15 minutes. Open can and pour toffee into pie crust. Allow to cool.
- Slice bananas over toffee.
- Whip the two cups of cream and spoon on top of bananas.
- Refrigerate before serving.

I have never boiled an unopened can of sweetened condensed milk and I don't know what the results would be??? Could be catastrophic 8-0 but I have had Banoffee pie and I love it. HIGH 5!

This sounds great!! As far as boiling the can of condensed milk goes, check out the recipe posted by Troutwhisperer "Thee Best Caramel" - about 3 months ago. Apparently it works really well! :) ^5
