Smothered Porkchops Recipe
This dish takes me back to my childhood and my Grandma's table ever time I make it.Just good old comfort food.

Ingredients
  • 8 Porkchops
  • 1 Onion sliced
  • 2 t. seasoned salt
  • 2 t. garlic powder
  • 1/2 t. pepper
  • 1/2 t. paprika
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup canola oil
  • water

Directions
  1. rinse and pat dry chops
  2. Mix seasoned salt, garlic powder, pepper, and paprika together in a small bowl
  3. Season chops with seasoning mix and reserve the leftover
  4. Heat oil in a large fry pan I always use Grandma's big cast iron fry pan
  5. Brown chops on both sides remove from pan and set aside
  6. Add onions to pan and saute till transparent
  7. Add remaining sesoning mix to flour and add to fry pan to make a roux when rue startrs to brown add a couple of cups of water and bring to a boil
  8. Return chops to pan and reduce to a simmer
  9. Cover and simmer for 1 hour.
  10. Enjoy
