Caramel-Glazed Apple Bars

- Apple Bars: shopping list
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) sweet cream butter, softened shopping list
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup apple butter shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 2 teaspoons vanilla shopping list
- 1 3/4 cups flour shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 2 granny smith apples, finely chopped shopping list
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg shopping list
- caramel Glaze: shopping list
- 4 tablespoons butter shopping list
- 1/2 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup heavy cream shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
How to make it
- Apple Bars:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 13×9-inch pan.
- In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together the sugars and butter. Add the eggs and vanilla; beat until combined. Stir in apple butter and apples. Add in the flour mixture and mix until just incorporated. Pour batter into greased pan.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until top is evenly browned. Remove from oven and let cool.
- Caramel Glaze:
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium-low heat. Stirring constantly, add in the sugar and salt and cook until bubbly. Stir in the heavy cream and bring mixture to a boil. Continue cook mixture, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes.
- Lightly drizzle glaze with a spoon over the bars.
