How to make it

  • To make Crust: add hot water to large bowl
  • Add 1 cup flour, yeast, sugar, mix with wooden spoon
  • Add salt, oregano, pepper and oil. Add another cup of flour, mix.
  • Continue adding flour until dough balls up, less sticky and ready to knead.
  • Turn dough out to floured surface, knead, adding flour (no more than 2 cups) as necessary.
  • Knead for 10 minutes or until dough is not at all sticky and pliable.. Form to a round disk.
  • Place dough in clean, oiled bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and let dough rise until doubled in size. It will take about one hour.
  • To make sauce: add all ingredients, let it sit to meld flavors. Be sure to taste for salt and pepper
  • When dough is ready, divide in two parts. Stretch dough onto two cookie sheets, brush with olive oil.
  • Sprinkle cheese on each crust leaving 1 inch clear all around the edges.
  • Spoon sauce over each crust, again leaving the border clear.
  • Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the top of each pizza.
  • Bake at 375 oven for 30-35 until top is bubbly with hot melted cheese and the crust is lightly browned.
