Apple Quark Kuchen

- Mürbteig Dough ( mellow dough base, non yeast ) : shopping list
- 200 g flour shopping list
- 1 pinch salt shopping list
- 50 g sugar shopping list
- 1 large egg shopping list
- 100 g cold butter or margarine shopping list
- Topping: shopping list
- 8 – 10 large apples shopping list
- 3 eggs separated shopping list
- 1 Tbs cold water shopping list
- 125 g sugar shopping list
- 1 Pkt vanilla sugar or use 2 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 1 Tbs semolina shopping list
- 30 g cornstarch shopping list
- 1 heaping tsp baking powder shopping list
- 250 g Quark shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 200C
- Make a dough by mixing the flour, salt, sugar, egg and margarine.
- Grease a 24-26 cm springform pan
- Roll out dough and fit into pan
- Cut apples into slices
- Beat whites stiff
- Beat yolks with the cold water then beat in the vanilla sugar, and sugar and beat very creamy and thick
- In a small bowl combine baking powder, cornstarch and semolina flour
- Carefully fold this into the egg whites
- Then blend into the creamed mixture.
- Fold in the apple slices and the quark
- Place this apple cheese mixture over the dough and fill pan
- Bake in middle oven rack,about 50 minutes or done
- Remove to rack and let cool completely before removing sides from springform pan
- Dust with powdered sugar if desired
