Herby Bourbon Sauce For Steak Recipe


HERBY BOURBON SAUCE FOR STEAK Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup cold butter; cubed & divided
  • 1/4 cup shallots
  • 1 tsp chopped garlic
  • 1 tbsp thyme
  • 1 tsp tarragon
  • 1 tbsp rosemary
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 2 cups beef stock
  • 2 tsp balsamic vinegar; divided
  • salt & pepper to taste

Directions
  1. Heat 1 tbsp butter on medium heat in a pot.
  2. Stir in shallots, garlic, thyme, tarragon and rosemary.
  3. Saute for 2 minutes or until shallots soften.
  4. Add bourbon and bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce to about 2 tbsp (aprox 5 minutes).
  6. Add stock and bring to a boil.
  7. Simmer 15-20 minutes or until reduced to half a cup.
  8. Swirl in 1 tsp of balsamic vinegar.
  9. Season with salt & pepper and turn off heat.
  10. Add butter.
  11. when completely melted and mixed thoroughly and remaining balsamic vinegar.
  12. Drizzle over steak.
