HERBY BOURBON SAUCE FOR STEAK

- 1/4 cup cold butter; cubed & divided shopping list
- 1/4 cup shallots shopping list
- 1 tsp chopped garlic shopping list
- 1 tbsp thyme shopping list
- 1 tsp tarragon shopping list
- 1 tbsp rosemary shopping list
- 1/2 cup bourbon shopping list
- 2 cups beef stock shopping list
- 2 tsp balsamic vinegar; divided shopping list
- salt & pepper to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Heat 1 tbsp butter on medium heat in a pot.
- Stir in shallots, garlic, thyme, tarragon and rosemary.
- Saute for 2 minutes or until shallots soften.
- Add bourbon and bring to a boil.
- Reduce to about 2 tbsp (aprox 5 minutes).
- Add stock and bring to a boil.
- Simmer 15-20 minutes or until reduced to half a cup.
- Swirl in 1 tsp of balsamic vinegar.
- Season with salt & pepper and turn off heat.
- Add butter.
- when completely melted and mixed thoroughly and remaining balsamic vinegar.
- Drizzle over steak.
