Butter Biscuits

- 2 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 cup whole wheat flour shopping list
- 3 tbs sugar shopping list
- 1 tbs baking powder shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 tsp baking soda shopping list
- 1 cup butter shopping list
- One 1/4 oz packet dry yeast shopping list
- 1/4 cup warm water shopping list
- 2 cups buttermilk shopping list
- 3/4 cup butter, melted shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Combine the dry ingredients and sift together in a mixing bowl. With a pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse meal. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add to dry ingredients with the buttermilk. Blend thoroughly. Turn out on board dusted with wheat flour and roll or pat to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut out with 2 1/2 inch cutter. Dip biscuits in melted butter; fold in half. Bake on nonstick baking sheet for 15 minutes.
