Cherry Garcia Ice Cream

CHERRY GARCIA ICE CREAM This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Corbett Estate in Fate, Texas in 1986.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup shaved plain chocolate shopping list
- 1/4 cup fresh bing cherries halved and pitted shopping list
- 2 large eggs shopping list
- 3/4 cup sugar shopping list
- 2 cups heavy cream shopping list
- 1 cup milk shopping list
How to make it
- Place shaved chocolate flakes and cherries in separate bowls then cover and refrigerate.
- Whisk eggs in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy about 2 minutes.
- Whisk in sugar a little at a time then continue whisking until completely blended about 1 minute.
- Pour in cream and milk then whisk to blend.
- Transfer mixture to an ice cream maker and freeze following then instructions.
- After ice cream stiffens about 2 minutes before it is done add chocolate and cherries.
- Continue freezing until ice cream is ready.
