How to make it

  • Slice the tomatoes 1/2 inch thick.
  • Mix the flour, bread crumbs, salt/pepper/spices into a shallow bowl (a pie tin works well, too)
  • Combine egg and milk into another shallow bowl.
  • Dip both sides of the tomato into the dry mix.
  • Then Dip into the wet mix.
  • Dip one more time into the dry mix.
  • Heat butter and oil in an skillet (cast-iron preferably)
  • Fry tomatoes until golden brown on both sides.
