How to make it

  • Put the flour In a plastic bag and coat stewing beef pieces. Brown in oil. Add tomato juice, onions, garlic, bayleaf, 2 tsp kitchen bouquet, basil and oregano and bring to a boil. reduce heat , cover and simmer for 1 & 1/2 hours. Add carrots, potatoes and celery (cut to your preferred size) and simmer another 1/2 hour.
  • Serve with crusty bread for an excellent winter dish.
  • I cook this on the stovetop in a 4 quart skillet with lid.
