Dilled Green Beans in Sour Cream

- 1 pound green beans (fresh or frozen) shopping list
- 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped shopping list
- 1 small onion, finely chopped (or to taste) shopping list
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine shopping list
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, minced or 1 teaspoon dried dill weed shopping list
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar shopping list
- 1 teaspoon cider vinegar shopping list
- salt and ground black pepper to taste shopping list
- 1 cup sour cream. shopping list
How to make it
- Cook green beans in boiling salted water just until tender crisp.
- Drain beans, reserving 1/2 cup cooking water.
- In large skillet, melt butter.
- Saute onion and parsley until onion is softened.
- Stir in flour to make a roux and cook until bubbly.
- Slowly add reserved bean cooking water and cook over medium heat until sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat and stir in remaining ingredients.
