Bread And Butter Pudding

- 8 small slices of bread shopping list
- 2 oz of butter shopping list
- 1/2 oz of candied lemon or orange peel shopping list
- 2 oz currents shopping list
- 10 fl oz of milk shopping list
- 2 oz double cream shopping list
- 2oz caster sugar ( fine suger ) shopping list
- grated zest of a half lemon shopping list
- 3 eggs shopping list
- freshly grated nutmeg shopping list
- a 2 pint oblong baking dish shopping list
How to make it
- Pre heat oven to gas mark 4 350f 180c
- butter the bread and cut in half, leave crust on
- arrange one layer of buttered bread over the base of the dish
- sprinkle the candied peel and half the currents over, then cover with another layer of bread and the rest of the currents
- add the milk and cream to a jug,stir in the sugar and lemon zest,
- put the eggs in a bowl and whisk, then add to the mixture in the jug and mix
- now pour it over the bread, sprinkle some nugmeg over the top
- bake in the oven for 30-40 minutes
- serve warm
