Buttermilk Cake 1958

The site said-------Buttermilk Cake from Hilda Earhart's recipe box. She wrote 1958 on this recipe. She writes, " I make every time for social events, this is my favorite cake recipe."
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups of sifted cake flour shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar shopping list
- 1 teaspoon of soda shopping list
- 1 teaspoon of salt shopping list
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder shopping list
- Sift in mixing bowl together three times. Then add: shopping list
- 1/2 cup of butter or shortening shopping list
- 1 cup of buttermilk shopping list
- 1 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
How to make it
- Beat shortening, buttermilk and vanilla for 2 minutes. Add eggs and beat 2 more minutes. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Makes two layers or one size sheet cake.
