The Best Gingerbread Ever

Tried and true. Moist. The Best. Serve with lemon sauce.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup melted butter shopping list
- 3/4 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 2 eggs, beaten shopping list
- 3/4 cup molasses, (I use Grandma's) shopping list
- 2 teaspoons baking soda shopping list
- 2-1/2 cups flour shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder shopping list
- 2 teaspoons ginger shopping list
- 1-1/2 teaspoons cinnamon shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg shopping list
- 1 cup boiling water shopping list
How to make it
- In large bowl, mix melted butter, sugar, eggs, and molasses
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, soda, baking powder, spices
- Add to butter, molasses mixture, mixing well
- Add cup of boiling water, hand mixing while pouring
- Mix well
- Pour into a greased and floured 9 X 13 X 2 pan
- Bake at 350 degrees for about 25-35 minutes, testing with toothpick
- Cool in pan
- Cut in squares and serve with lemon sauce or sweetened whipped cream
- DELICIOUS!

Gosh,I love gingerbread with lots of lemon sauce. I loved it as a child and I love it still. I am anxious to try this recipe; it sure looks good. Thanks for the reminder. Merry Christmas, dear, to you and your family.
