How to make it

  • In a large pan place the two sugars and water. Place the mulling spice in a tea infuser and place in pan with sugar and water.
  • Heat until there is a slow rolling boil and continue on low for about 15 minutes so that the spices can infuse.
  • Add the maple and almond extracts now, stir completely and turn off heat.
  • Remove infuser and place syrup into canning jars. I do a hot water bath then so I can can and store or give as gifts. Or you can just place in refrigerator and it will keep for several months there if it lasts that long.
  • This recipe makes 4 pints.
