How to make it

  • Combine the 3/4 cups sugar and water
  • Heat over medium heat until dissolved to make a simple syrup
  • Add the cranberries and remove from heat immediately
  • Place a piece of waxed paper about 16" long on the counter
  • Put the last two cups of sugar in a shallow dish
  • Drain the cranberries (reserve the syrup for use in making cocktails!)
  • Toss in the sugar a few at a time
  • Place on wax paper to until sugar coating is set and dry
