Roasted Brisket with Beer

- 5-7 lb Brisket ( market trimmed, not packer trimmed from the Bag) shopping list
- 1 Bottle of chili sauce (Heinz) shopping list
- 3 cloves of garlic (sliced) shopping list
- 2 large yellow onions (sliced 1/4in slices) shopping list
- 1 can of beer shopping list
- salt and pepper shopping list
How to make it
- Make slits in brisket with a sharp knife and insert garlic slivers all over brisket.
- Place brisket in a large roasting pan (fat side up), cover all over with sliced onions (will look like alot of onions but these will cook down).
- Pour a bottle of chili sauce over brisket and onions, fill empty bottle with water and add to pan.
- Season with a good amount of cracked black pepper and salt
- Roast uncovered in a preheated 250 degree oven
- Baste roast every 20 mins for the first 1 1/2 hours
- Pour a 12oz beer over roast, cover with foil and bake for 2 1/2 hours more.
- Remove brisket from pan, and rest covered with foil.
- Place pan on stove top over med high heat, Skim fat off juices add a couple dashes of worchestershire and thicken with a corn starch slurry. Enjoy
