How to make it

  • I usually place 1/4 cup of mixed spices in a pot with 6 to 8 tea bags and fill with 6 to 8 cups of water.
  • Bring all to a boil and simmer 10 minutes or more for desired flavor and color.
  • Strain liquid, reserve spices and one can resuse the spices again for a second brew by adding fresh water and more fresh tea bags.
  • Because I don't like to add milk and sugar to my tea ( I like my chai tea plain and unsweetend ) ;
  • I usually have milk and sugar at the table for quests to add what they want themselves
  • Black pepper gives the tea a zing but be careful not to add to much to your mix
  • Rose petals also give an exotic touch to the spice mix

    This is a wonderful treat and can also be a great gift! I love this mix! I always skip the milk and sugar, since I don't like it so much in my tea, but that is just me :) Thank you so much for sharing such a great recipe Midgelet! 5 forks
