Lemon Chutney Serrano Bread

- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 1 tbs baking powder shopping list
- 1 tbs finely shredded lemon peel shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 egg, slightly beaten shopping list
- 1 1/4 cups milk shopping list
- 1 serrano chile, seeds and stem removed, minced shopping list
- 3/4 cup chutney, chopped shopping list
- 1/4 cup cooking oil shopping list
- 1 tbs lemon juice shopping list
- 1 cup chopped pecans shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugars, baking powder, lemon peel, and salt. In a smaller bowl, combine the egg, milk, serrano, chutney, oil, and lemon juice. Mix the egg mixture into the flour mixture, stirring well. Add the nuts, then transfer the batter to a greased 9x5x3-inch loaf pan.
- Place the pan in the oven and bake for 1 hour or until done. Remove the pan from the oven and cool for 10 minutes. Remove the bread from the pan and cool on a rack.
