Berry Shortbread Dreams

These cookies are a wonderful shortbread with a touch of fruit on the top. very easy to make and always a hit
Ingredients
- 1 Cup butter (no substitutes), softened shopping list
- 2/3 Cup sugar shopping list
- ½ tsp almond extract shopping list
- 2 Cups all purpose flour shopping list
- 1/3 -1/2 Cup seedless raspberry jam, or whatever your favorite is shopping list
- glaze shopping list
- 1 Cup confectioners sugar shopping list
- 2-3 tsp water shopping list
- ½ tsp almond extract shopping list
- ***I add a little extra water and you can also add about ½ tsp of jam if you want*** shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in extract; gradually add flour until dough forms a ball. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour or until easy to handle.
- Roll into 1 inch balls. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheets. Using the end of a wooden spoon handle, make an indentation in the center. Fill with jam.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 14-18 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool. Spoon additional jam into cookies if desired.
- Combine Glaze ingredients; drizzle over cookies.
- Makes approx 3 1/2 dozen cookies
