How to make it

  • Combine 2 1/2c water and salt in a small saucepan.
  • Bring to boil.
  • Mix corn meal with remaining water in a small bowl.
  • Add corn meal mixture slowly to boiling water, stirring constantly.
  • Reduce heat to low; cook stirring constantly for 5 minutes or until mixture is thickened.
  • Pour into 8x4 or 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  • Refridgerate for an hour or until set.
  • Remove from pan and cut into 1/2" slices.
  • Fry slices in greased skillet over medium heat 4 to 5 minutes on each side until lightly browned.
  • Serve with syrup.
