Cinnamon Orange Glaze

- 5 medium oranges (or 3/4 cup orange juice) shopping list
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar shopping list
- 1 tsp cinnamon shopping list
- 1 tsp orange zest (optional, but recommended) shopping list
- Small pinch of allspice shopping list
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat burner to high
- Zest half an orange and measure out 1 tsp zest
- Juice the oranges and dump into the pan with all of the spices
- Bring to a boil and add sugar
- Allow mixture to bubble up for 2-4 minutes, or until slightly thickened. Remember to stir constantly.
- Remove from heat and add butter, stir in and set aside to cool for 5-15 minutes.
- To use as syrup: use after 5 mintues of cooling.
- To use as glaze: use after 15 minutes of cooling.
- Keep in mind, it well set into a hard glaze after it has completely cooled but it makes a great syrup while it's hot.

Mmmmm thanks! My mom used to make an orange glaze that she would put on a carrot cake ... sounds different but it was really good.
