- 1/2 cup hot water shopping list
- 2 cups stone ground yellow cornmeal shopping list
- 1 cup milk shopping list
- 1 egg beaten shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking powder shopping list
- 1 teaspoon cane syrup shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 4 tablespoons butter shopping list
How to make it
- Stir hot water into the cornmeal then gradually add the milk.
- Beat in egg, baking powder, sugar and salt.
- Melt butter in a skillet and when it bubbles pour in the corn batter.
- Lower heat and let the bottom crust over without stirring.
- As the crust forms scrape it into the rest of the mush and continue until mush is browned.
