Ingredients
  • 8 cups skinned, chopped tomatoes
  • 2 cups chopped onons
  • 1/4 cup pickling salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup vinegar
  • 3/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 14 oz can tomatoe paste
  • 1 cup green pepper
  • 1 cup red pepper

Directions
  1. To skin tomatoes add boiling water into pot and let boil till skins peel off. Peel and continue with the recipe.
  2. Soak tomatoes and onions in pickling salt. Drain and put into a large pot. And remaining ingredients; cook until thickened. Spoon into hot jars and seal with hot lids. Cover with a towel until cooled.
  3. Makes 3 pints

Looks good Nancerose. We eat a lot of salsa don't know why I don't make my own.


I did alot for when I had a 50 tomate patch..I had humungous...to make...really good~I added more cayenne as my kids like it spicy~
