How to make it

  • Mix the ingredients in a bowl.
  • Make a slight well in the centre,add water and beat well with a spoon or whisk(Add enough water a little at a time to make a batter the consistency of thick cream).
  • Mix well to combine.
  • Leave to rest for at least 15 minutes.
  • Heat cast iron pan, and then turn down to low heat.
  • Drop teaspoonful of batter in pan
  • Dry fry to a golden color,turning once or twice.
  • Remove and place them in a serving dish.
  • For sauce:
  • Heat a small saucepan.Add onion and dry fry till light golden.
  • Add cumin seeds.
  • Add soy milk, 1\2 cup water,salt and red chilli powder to make a smooth paste.
  • Set aside
  • Serving
  • Serve rice, then add dumplings, then spoon suace over top.
  • Put raita on table for serving.
  • Serve with Chappati/pappadums
