Reuben Sandwich

- Hearty beefsteak rye bread shopping list
- butter, softened shopping list
- Swiss cheese slices shopping list
- corned beef, thinly sliced shopping list
- sauerkraut, well drained shopping list
- thousand island dressing shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat a large cast iron skillet over medium heat.
- Butter two slices of rye bread; place one slice, buttered side down, in skillet. Next goes one slice of cheese, then two or three slices of meat, a spoonful of kraut, a squirt of dressing, another slice of cheese, and last of all, a slice of rye bread buttered side up.
- Grill sandwich on one side, until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Carefully turn sandwich with a spatula and grill the other side until golden brown.
- Enjoy!!

Nothing like a homemade Reuben, so good! I like mine 'open faced' so I eat less bread. I baked mine in the toaster oven for about 12 minutes or so on 375(f) until it was warm and the cheese was melted.
