How to make it

  • 1. Cook the pasta just al dante, drain, rinse in cold water and set aside to drain.
  • 2. In a large skillet heat the olive oil and add the bacon, garlic and celery, cook until bacon is soft and sizzling.
  • 3. Add the mince and cook to med done, stirring frequently.
  • 4. add the mushrooms, olives, broccoli, bell pepper, basil, Italian seasoning and chilies (if using).
  • 5. Cook mixture until done to your liking, gently folding often.
  • 6. preheat oven to 190 deg C (375 deg F).
  • 7. Put the pasta in the pot you cooked it in and add the meat mixture, add salt and pepper to taste. Stir until well mixed.
  • 8. Add the butter, mayo and sour cream and mix thoroughly.
  • 9. Poor into a large casserole dish, sprinkle with paprika, cover and bake for 30 minutes.
  • 10. Uncover and bake for 15 more minutes.
  • You can add a beaten egg to the mix when you put the meat and pasta together if you don’t think your mince has enough suet to hold the casserole together. Enjoy.

    Have no problem with sheep,have sheared a few sheep in my time,but,coming from a cattle background....I prefer good beef.
