Crispy Lentil Strips

- 1 cup lentils shopping list
- 1 tbsp pepper corns shopping list
- 1 tbsp coriander seeds shopping list
- 2 teaspoon chopped ginger shopping list
- 2 green chili, chopped shopping list
- 1 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder shopping list
- 1 teaspoon garam masala shopping list
- salt to taste shopping list
- vegetable oil for frying shopping list
How to make it
- Soak the lentils in a bowl of hot water for half an hour
- Drain and put in a blender with coriander seeds and pepper corns and blend until a thick paste is made.
- Add remaining ingredients and let stand for half an hour.
- Heat half an inch of oil in a deep frypan or wok until smoking. Form patties, 10cm across, with moist hands and fry for a couple of minutes.
- Remove from oil drain on paper towel. Cut patties into strips, heat oil until smoking again, and fry until golden brown. Continue frying patties with remain mixture.
- Serve with chutney, tzatzicki, or hommos.
