Chocolate Buttermilk Bread

- 1/2 cup butter-melted shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 2 eggs-room temperature shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract shopping list
- 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1/2 cup baking cocoa shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 1 cup buttermilk-room temperature shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans shopping list
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Cream melted butter and sugar until well combined.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Add vanilla.
- Combine flour minus one tablespoon, salt, cocoa, baking powder, and baking soda. Add to butter mixture alternating with buttermilk. Mix well after each addition but do not overmix.
- Combine remaining tablespoon flour with chopped pecans and chocolate chips.
- Stir into batter.
- Pour batter into greased 9" x 5" loaf pan.
- Bake on center rack for 55 minutes to 1 hour.
- Cool in pan for 10 minutes then turn out onto wire rack to cool completely.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar or add your favorite glaze.
- Bread can also be served warm.
