How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 375
  • Cook macaroni, drain, set aside in a 2 qt. casserole dish
  • saute onion in the butter, salt and pepper
  • stir in flour, cook over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth and bubbly
  • remove from heat, stir in milk, return to burner
  • heat to a boil(not a hard boil), stirring constantly
  • boil and stir for 1 minute
  • remove from heat, add cheeses, stir until completely melted
  • Pour into macaroni dish, mix well
  • top with the bread crumbs
  • bake uncovered for 30 min.
