Dolores Buttermilk Pound Cake

- 3 1/2 cups flour shopping list
- 1 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 tsp baking soda shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 1/2 cup butter shopping list
- 2 1/4 cups sugar shopping list
- 1/4 cup applesauce shopping list
- 1 tsp lemon extract shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla extract shopping list
- 1/2 tsp almond extract shopping list
- 2 whole eggs shopping list
- 6 egg whites shopping list
- 1 1/3 cup buttermilk shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oven to 325 degrees.
- Sift flour baking powder, baking soda, and salt together. Sift a second time and set aside.
- Beat butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Add eggs, egg whites, vanilla, lemon, almond, and applesauce. Beat at low speed until blended. scraping bowl constantly. Beat at high speed 5 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally.
- Add flour mixture to batter, alternating with buttermilk. Beat at low speed after each addition, until batter is smooth.
- Pour into lightly greased and floured 10" tube or bundt pan. Bake for 1 hour to 1 hour 10 minutes or until golden brown.
