sibut soup

- 1 whole native or free range chickens, (around 1 kilo,) chopped to serving sizes shopping list
- A packet of sibut or 4 herbs : shopping list
- 1. Goji berries (狗脊, kamki in Hokkien) shopping list
- 2. Chinese foxglove (熟地, Shu Di in Mandarin and Shiok Te in Hokkien) shopping list
- 3. Angelica Sinensis (當歸, or Dang Gui in both Mandarin and Hokkien) shopping list
- 4. Chinese lovage root (川芎, or Chuanxiong in Mandarin... shopping list
- 8 C water shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
How to make it
- 1. Wash the chicken pieces very well. Set aside.
- 2. Heat up some oil in a big pot. Saute the ginger and garlic until fragrant but not burnt. Add the chicken pieces. Stir fry for a while until the meat changes color.
- 3. Add the water. Let boil. When it boils, add all the Chinese herbs. Simmer until tender, around 2 hours.
- 4. Add salt and pepper to taste. Dish up. Serve hot.
