Crown Jewel Desert Recipe

Crown Jewel Desert Recipe
I got this from a Jell-o cookbook about 36 years ago. I would make it more often, but it takes a fairly empty refrigerator to have room to make the first stage of the Jell-o. But it is so pretty and so good!

Ingredients
  • 1 pkg (3 oz) each: Jell-O-orange, cherry and lime
  • 3 cups boiling water
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 pkg (3 oz) Jell-o lemon
  • 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 2 envelopes Dream Whip

Directions
  1. Prepare the three flavors of Jell-o separately, using 2 cups boiling water and ½ cup cold water for each. Let solidify in pan where Jell-o will be thin (1/2” thick). Chill until firm, or overnight.
  2. Mix pineapple juice and sugar. Heat until sugar dissolves. Dissolve lemon Jell-o in hot juice then add ½ cup cold water. Chill until slightly thickened.
  3. Meanwhile, mix crumbs and butter. Press into bottom of 9” spring form pan.
  4. Cut the firm Jell-o into ½” cubes.
  5. Then prepare Dream Whip as directed on package. Blend with lemon Jell-o mixture.
  6. Fold in Jell-o cubes. Pour into pan.
  7. Chill at least 5 hours before removing from pan.
