How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 400.
  • Lightly grease oval gratin dish and arrange a layer of potatoes on bottom.
  • Sprinkle with salt, pepper, 1/3 garlic and 2 tablespoons cheese.
  • Repeat twice more and pour over stock.
  • Bake 45 minutes stirring potato mixture every 20 minutes or so or until potatoes are tender.
  • Place under broiler for 4 minutes or until top becomes golden brown.

    Sounds good, but did I miss something? You mentioned it is full of herbs, but I don't see them listed. Is this post correct or did you inadvertently leave something out? Thanks!

    My husband isn't a huge garlic fan. If I were to use garlic powder, how much would anyone guess I should add to give it taste, but not overpower?
