Pomegranate Molasses Butter Cake

- 1 stick butter softened shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups flour shopping list
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 cup milk shopping list
- 3 Tbs pomegranate divided plus 1 tsp more shopping list
- 3/4 cup sugar plus 4 tsp more shopping list
- 3 large eggs shopping list
- 1 cup powder sugar shopping list
- 6 Tbs light ccream shopping list
- 3/4 cup coarse chopped walnuts or pecans shopping list
How to make it
- Grease and flour a 9 inch square baking pan
- preheat oven to 350F
- Sift flour, baking powder and salt
- Combine milk with 2 Tbs pomegranate syrup
- Cream butter and 3/4 cup granulated sugar until light and fluffy
- Add eggs one at a time
- Add flour mixture in 3 batches to creamed mixture and combine well
- Pour in pan
- Bake until top is golden brown and tooth pick comes out clean in center about 30 to 40 misn
- Cool 10 mins , turn cake onto rack and then turn cake right side up again
- Whisk together the powder sugar, ceam and remaining 1 Tbs pomegrnate syrup
- Brush over warm cake ketting it drip down sides
- Heat nuts with the 1 tsp syrup and 4 tsp sugar and cook and stir until sugar coats nuts ( watch carefully as not to burn nuts )
- Sprinkle over top of cake
