How to make it

  • Grease and flour a 9 inch square baking pan
  • preheat oven to 350F
  • Sift flour, baking powder and salt
  • Combine milk with 2 Tbs pomegranate syrup
  • Cream butter and 3/4 cup granulated sugar until light and fluffy
  • Add eggs one at a time
  • Add flour mixture in 3 batches to creamed mixture and combine well
  • Pour in pan
  • Bake until top is golden brown and tooth pick comes out clean in center about 30 to 40 misn
  • Cool 10 mins , turn cake onto rack and then turn cake right side up again
  • Whisk together the powder sugar, ceam and remaining 1 Tbs pomegrnate syrup
  • Brush over warm cake ketting it drip down sides
  • Heat nuts with the 1 tsp syrup and 4 tsp sugar and cook and stir until sugar coats nuts ( watch carefully as not to burn nuts )
  • Sprinkle over top of cake
