Its the weekend, everyone's home and you want to make a great family dinner. Here's your solution: An easy roast recipe, that makes its own gravy while cooking!

Ingredients
  • 3 1/2 pound rump roast
  • 1 (10.75 oz) can Cream of Mushroom condensed soup
  • 1/2 (1 oz) package dry onion soup mix
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup dry vermouth
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • ground black pepper (to taste)

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  2. Combine flour and pepper (to taste) in a large sized mixing bowl. Rub the rump roast in the flour mixture until well coated, then shake off the excess.
  3. Over medium to high heat, melt the butter in a large pot and brown the roast on all sides. Now, place into in a 4 qt casserole dish, with lid.
  4. Mix together the soup mix, mushroom soup and vermouth (or white wine) then pour over roast.
  5. Cover, and bake for 3 hours, or until its reached your desired doneness.

Amazing! I made it tonight for four guys who have eaten Julia Child's recipes, they loved it! I added carrots, onions and celery as it was cooking and served it with mashed potatoes. Everyone wanted more! Kudos!! I will make it again - and NOT share the recipe!
