How to make it

  • In a bowl combine mayonnaise, sour cream, cayenne, garlic, minced shallot, Worcestershire sauce and salt. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  • Prepare shrimp according to recipe.
  • Cut french bread rolls 3/4 of the way through. Spread some of the spicy mayonnaise mixture on each side. Place 10 shrimp per sandwich on one half of the roll. Top each sandwich with shredded lettuce and two tomato slices. Serve.

    There are Cajun Popcorn Shrimp for sale in stores ready made, or you can make it this way

    2 eggs
    1 1/4 cup whole milk
    3/4 cup fine corn meal
    3/4 cup all-purpose flour
    3 tablespoons commercial Cajun spice mix
    1/2 teaspoon dry thyme
    64 ounces frying oil (canola oil works well)
    roll shrimp in mixture
