- Real Easy Indian curry shopping list
- Ingredients Serves 8 (Freezes well) shopping list
- chicken breast/Diced lamb/Diced beef (1Kg -2 lb) shopping list
- 2 Tbsp sunflower oil/ghee shopping list
- 2 onions chopped shopping list
- 2” (10cm)Piece of ginger chopped shopping list
- 1 Head of garlic chopped shopping list
- ½ Bunch coriander chopped (including stocks) shopping list
- 2 Whole Green Chillies shopping list
- 1 Tbsp ground cumin shopping list
- 1 Tbsp turmeric shopping list
- ½ Tsp garam masala shopping list
- 1 Tsp ground black pepper shopping list
- 1 Tsp ground coriander shopping list
- 1 Heaped Tsp Smoked hot paprika shopping list
- ½ -1 Tsp Dried Red Chilli Flakes shopping list
- 1-2 Tsp salt shopping list
- 1 Can chopped Tomateos (Drained,keep sauce) shopping list
- 1 Tbsp of cornflour mixed with 2 Tbsp of water (use finger to mix) shopping list
How to make it
- Method
- Heat Oil then add Ground Cumin stir for a minute,throw in the Onions (med heat)and cook til edges of onion are browned about 10 minutes.
- Stir in the Garlic for 3-4 mins then add the Ginger for 3 mins.
- Stir in the drained Tomatoes and the Whole green chillies and mix well.
- Add your meat (turn heat up to med-hi just to seal your meat)
- Add all the spices Salt,Turmeric,Black pepper,Coriander,Garam Masala,Chilli Flakes and Paprika and stir for 4-5 mins (med heat)
- Add 2 cups boiling water along with drained tom sauce and stir.
- Add the fresh Coriander (10 mins from end of cooking time) and stir bring to the boil cover and simmer,
- Add the Cornflour mix to the curry to thicken and stir (add this 10mins before end of cooking time)
- For Chicken 25 minutes. Beef/Lamb 1 ½ hrs till soft
- Serve with Basmati rice.
