Fruitcake Cookies

- 1/2 cup shortening shopping list
- 1 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed shopping list
- 2 eggs, beaten shopping list
- 2 cups flour shopping list
- 1/2 tsp baking soda shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 tsp cinnamon shopping list
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves shopping list
- 2 cups golden raisins shopping list
- 2 cup diced mixed candied fruit shopping list
- Optional: 1 1/2 cup chopped nuts shopping list
- 1/2 cup evaporated milk shopping list
- 2 tsp vinegar shopping list
How to make it
- Blend together the shortening and the brown sugar.
- Beat in the eggs.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, salt, and the spices.
- Mix well.
- Stir in the raisins, fruit, and nuts, if you are using them.
- Add to the shortening mixture along with the milk and vinegar.
- Mix well.
- Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheets.
- Bake at 325 F for 20 to 25 minutes.
