This recipe makes enough sauce for three large pizzas. It's use of canned tomatoes and herbs-in-a-tube practically cancel out prep time. You can even throw it all in a crock pot and have it ready along with bread machine dough at the end of the day... More

Ingredients
  • 1 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 12 oz can tomato paste, roma tomato style
  • 1/4 c red wine
  • 2 T minced garlic from tube (produce section)
  • 2 T Italian herb blend from tube (produce section)
  • 1 T fennel seeds
  • 1 t ground cinnamon
  • 1 t sweet paprika

Directions
  1. Combine all ingredients well in nonstick pot and bring to boil.
  2. Reduce heat to low and let simmer for at least 15 minutes. Can simmer longer if needed.
  3. Remove from heat and allow to cool before using.
