Cream Cheese Pound Cake With Cream Cheese Icing

- 3 1/2 cups flour shopping list
- 1 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 1/4 tsp salt shopping list
- 2 stick butter, unsalted room temp shopping list
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened shopping list
- 3 cups sugar shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla or almond shopping list
- 6 eggs, room temp shopping list
- 1 cup milk( even skim ) room temp shopping list
- Icing: shopping list
- 4 oz cream cheese softened shopping list
- 2 Tbs unsalted butter, room temp shopping list
- 2 cups powdered sugar shopping list
- 3 tbs milk or cream shopping list
How to make it
- Cream butter, cream cheese and sugar till fluffy and well mixed
- Sift flour and baking powder and salt
- Add eggs, one at a time to cream mixture
- Add vanilla and milk
- Slowly add flour to creamed
- mixture and combine well
- Divide into 2 greased and floured 9 inch loaf pans
- Bake 325 until tested done in center with wooden toothpick
- When cool, ice
- Cream butter and cream cheese. Add milk and powdered sugar to make a spreadable icing.
- Note: great also without icing . Use this as a base for your trifle, shortcakes, petit fours!!
