Italian Apple Torte

- 3/4 cup softened butter shopping list
- 1/4 cup golden raisins shopping list
- !/2 cup marsala wine shopping list
- 4 med. granny smith apples shopping list
- 2 tlbs. lemon juice shopping list
- 3 lrg. eggs shopping list
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar shopping list
- 3 cups all purpose flour sifted shopping list
- 1 tlbs baking powder shopping list
- 1/4 cup pine nuts, toasted (which I forgot to toast:) shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350. Soak raisins in Marsala: set aside. Peel and finely slice apples; place in large bowl. Add lemon juice and enough water to cover. In a seperate lrg. mixing bowl, mix one egg and two egg yolks. Add sugar and butter, mix at med. speed until smooth. Add raisins and wine mixture, flour and baking powder, mix well. Coat 9" spring form pan with butter. Place dough mixture in pan. Strain apples reserving 2tlbs of liquid. Toss apples in Tlbs of suger: place on top of dough mix, pressing lightly. tip torte evenly w/pine nuts and 2 tlbs of reserved liquid. Place on center rack of oven. Bake for about 45 minutes or until tooth pick inserted in center comes out clean. Sides and top of torte should be golden brown. Remove and let cool. Serve w/favorite toppings;)
