How to make it

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9 x 13 inch pan.
  • 2. Add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to 2/3 cups milk in a measuring cup. Set aside for now.
  • 3. Mash bananas with a fork and add the remaining 1 teaspoon of lemon juice to them. Set aside for now.
  • 4. In a LARGE bowl, stir the cake mix and the baking soda together. Add the bananas, milk/lemon mixture, softened butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Beat at a low speed until everything is moistened. Beat at medium speed for about 4 minutes.
  • 5. Pour batter into the 9 x 13 inch pan and put into the oven. Bake for about 30 to 35 minutes.
  • 6. After the cake has cooled, frost with buttercream frosting.
