Good-'n'-gooey Peach Cobbler

- Filling: shopping list
- 12 -14 ripe peaches, peeled and sliced shopping list
- 1/4 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice shopping list
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon shopping list
- 3/4 teaspoon powdered ginger shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- Batter: shopping list
- 1/2 cup butter shopping list
- 1 1/4 cups flour shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 2 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 1 cup buttermilk shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a bowl, mix together all the filling ingredients. Set aside. The filling will be a bit juicier than most pies.
- Melt butter in a 9x13 baking dish in the oven.
- In another bowl, stir together flour, sugar, and baking powder, and then add the buttermilk.
- Mix until lightly blended.
- Spoon the mixture evenly over the melted butter.
- DO NOT STIR.
- Pour the peach filling evenly over batter.
- Bake 45 to 60 minutes or until done.
- Serve warm, with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if desired.

I've made this cobbler many times this summer. Warm from the oven with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, there's nothing like it. Bad for the waistline but good for the soul. Thanks for sharing your recipe. :)
