Sweet And Spicy Ground Pork (Giniling)

- olive oil shopping list
- butter shopping list
- 2 cloves garlic, minced shopping list
- 1 large onion, minced shopping list
- 2 tomatoes, quartered shopping list
- 2 bell peppers, diagonally cut into short strips shopping list
- 1/2 kilo ground pork (can be replaced with beef if desired) shopping list
- salt shopping list
- green peas shopping list
- potatoes and carrots, cut into small cubes shopping list
- corn, removed from the cob shopping list
- 1 can tomato sauce shopping list
- soy sauce shopping list
- black pepper shopping list
- sugar shopping list
How to make it
- Stir fry the ground pork in olive oil until it turns brown. Add a dash of salt. Set aside when it's done.
- In a casserole, heat the olive oil and butter.
- When it is warm enough, toss in the onion and saute.
- Add in the garlic and tomatoes. Saute further.
- Put the ground pork and stir fry for about 8 minutes.
- Pour in the corn and the green peas.
- Pour in the tomato sauce. Stir.
- Now you may add the bell pepper, potatoes and carrots.
- Simmer until the tomato sauce reduces and blends with the olive oil.
- You may add water if it thickens.
- Season to taste with soy sauce, black pepper and sugar. Make sure the taste of these three will blend well with the tomato sauce.
- Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Serve with rice.
