Sesame Chicken

- 4 seven-eight ounce chicken breasts, lightly pounded shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups + 1 tablespoon soy sauce shopping list
- 1 1/4 teaspoons ground ginger shopping list
- 2 1/4 teaspoons fresh minced garlic shopping list
- 1/2 cup + 3 1/2 teaspoons white wine shopping list
- 1 cup + 3 tablespoons sugar shopping list
- toasted sesame seeds for garnish (see note above) shopping list
- green onions cut on the bias for garnish shopping list
How to make it
- Combine soy sauce, ginger, garlic, wine and sugar in a mixing bowl and blend thoroughly
- Place the lightly pounded chicken breasts and the mixture (the marinade) in a large resealable plastic bag or a low baking dish (make certain all the chicken is covered or surrrounded with the marinade)
- Place in the refrigerator and marinade for 4 hours before using
- Remove chicken from the marinade and (1) place on your grill - medium heat or (2) 5-6 inches under your broiler on a sheet pan or in a shallow baking dish or (3) oven bake the chicken at 350 degrees F (be careful NOT to have the heat turned up too high or the sugar may burn)
- Remove the chicken from the heat and thin slice on the bias
- Arrange the chicken on a serving platter, pour the juices over the chicken and sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions (or top a salad with the sliced chicken after topping with juices and seeds)
