Easy Cornbread

This is one of the first items I made when I learned to cook so many years ago.Throw away those boxed cornmeal mixes! This is easy and delicious! I like sweet cornbread, so I add 1/2 c sugar,if you don't use 1/4 c sugar. Read more you can use sweet milk or buttermilk,doesn't matter. See less
Ingredients
- 1/2 c oil shopping list
- 1 c flour shopping list
- 1 c yellow cornmeal shopping list
- 1 T.baking powder shopping list
- 1 t.salt shopping list
- 1/4-1/2 c sugar shopping list
- 1 c milk shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 400 deg.Add oil in a cast iron skillet.Place in hot oven.
- In a bowl add dry ingredients,Measure milk,add eggs and beat well.Pour liquid mixture into dry ingredienta and mix well.Add hot oil to mixture and beat in.Pour mixture into hot skillet bake 15-20 mins .
