Ingredients

1 cup creamy peanut butter

1 cup confectioners' sugar

4 Tbsp melted butter

1/2 cup chopped walnuts

1/2 cup chopped maraschino cherries

1 cup sweetened flaked coconut

2 1/4 cups bran flakes cereal

Icing:

3 squares unsweetened chocolate

3 squares semi-sweet chocolate

About 3 to 4 Tbsp confectioners' sugar

Chopped peanuts for rolling

Directions

Mix all ingredients except those for icing together using a wooden spoon ~ don't use an electric mixer; you want the cereal to remain as intact as possible.

Roll into bite-sized balls and set aside.

Prepare icing: Gently melt chocolates and butter together. Stir in enough confectioners' sugar to make a dipping consistency.

Set chopped peanuts into a shallow container.

Dip balls in chocolate and roll in chopped peanuts. Set on a wire rack to allow chocolate to set, while beating back the hordes with your wooden spoon!

Makes about 3 dozen, depending on the size.
