Ketchup

I don't remember where I got this ketchup recipe, and is what we use instead of commercial ketchup. The children think it tastes like store-bought and even David likes it (who doesn't care much for ketchup-he's a mustard man. Read more (-: This recipe is easy to make, but watch out, it goes rapidly if your family likes ketchup. I usually double the recipe because the kids like it so much and go through it quickly. Ingredients
- 6 oz. can tomato paste shopping list
- 1/2 c. light corn syrup shopping list
- 1/2 c. vinegar shopping list
- 1/4 c. water shopping list
- 1 T. sugar shopping list
- 1 tsp. salt shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. onion powder shopping list
- 1/8 tsp. garlic powder shopping list
How to make it
- Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan, stirring until smooth.
- Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Once it boils, reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Remove from heat, cover and let cool. Refrigerate cooled ketchup.
