How to make it

  • Preparation:
  • Prepare Cucumber Yogurt Sauce: cover and refrigerate.
  • In a large bowl, combine lamb, garlic, dried oregano leaves, onion powder, salt and pepper; mix lightly but thoroughly. Shape into two oval 1/2-inch thick patties.
  • Place patties on rack in broiler pan so surface of meat is 3 to 4 inches from heat. Broil 8 to 10 minutes or until no longer pink, turning once. Carve each patty into thin slices. Place equal amounts of lamb, tomato and onion in each pita half; serve with Cucumber Yogurt Sauce.
  • Cucumber Yogurt Sauce:
  • In medium bowl, combine all ingredients; mix well.
  • Serve with Lamb Gyros.

    There's this (dive) the next town from me, that makes awesome Gyro's with the lamb/beef strips that melt in your mouth. You also get a huge order of fries. All of that for 6 bucks! My husband enjoyed it so much. Anyway, this is a make-shift gyro, but I like it!

    I'm going to have to give this a try!!! It looks really good. The only problem is, if it is too easy we won't go to George's to have them and then he can't flirt with the 84 year old lady that I care for!!!! The 20 yr old waiter is too cute with Donalee!
